Seoul Fashion Week 2017 – My Favorite Looks

Issa Wrap! One thing I love about living in Seoul is the annual Seoul Fashion Week – an event where designers showcase their newest collections and a chance for all of us non-celebrities out there to show off what we hide in our closets. No – seriously – some of my friends start planning their outfits for these six days filled with edgy leather, fancy sequins and soft velvet weeks in advance. And I get it – It’s a time for all the free spirits to come together. To see and to be seen. What a shame I had to hop on a plane to Europe the week before! But thanks to Instagram and Pinterest it is never too late to find some fashion inspo from the other side of the world and two trends have definitely caught my eye this season. The Cute Girls Of Seoul – And Why I Don’t Want To Be One Of Them

the-cute-girls-_25631698

If you ask some of my university friends back home about me, they would probably describe me in three words: Cute. Sweet. Pink. And to some extend that is true. Give me some chocolate, seat me in front of a Disney movie and I’ll turn into a clingy, whiny little girl again. But don’t you dare expect to the see the same person in me now, after ten months of living abroad. Granted – I still wear my pink backpack when I go to a Hello Kitty Cafe. But after all those months of clubbing, drinking and lots of dating, I realized: The feminist in me doesn’t want to be called cute anymore. I got a Fingertattoo … and everyone was against it

KakaoTalk_20170519_114420966

If you read my last article about getting my first Tattoo in Korea, you know how hooked I got on getting more! Before I got the venus symbol on my wrist I actually planned on getting a small tattoo on the side of my finger. I mean … have you seen Ariana’s super cute BABY DOLL Tattoo or Rihanna’s legendary Shhh…? The first time I saw them I instantly knew: I want that too. A Tattoo small enough not to be noticed that easily but still visible enough to make a statement. So shortly after I got my first Tattoo, I returned to Ida’s studio in Itaewon to get it handpoked by her sweet co-worker Baka. Continue reading “I got a Fingertattoo … and everyone was against it”

Sunday Thoughts: 10 Empowering Quotes if You Have a Bad Day

It’s Sunday – and that usually means laying in bed all day, bingewatching Keeping up with the Kardashians and stalking my friends on social media. I don’t know about you, but every once in a while I stumble upon a super deep and fun quote on Instagram, take a screenshot and most likely forget about it shortly after. So needless to say: I have piled up quite a collection of motivating and empowering quotes on my phone over the years.

Time to share them all, don’t you think? And since I had quite a stressful week, let me share my favorite quotes with you – all about female empowerment of course 😉
